We ventured to Chino Hills in search of masala dosa a yummy South Indian dish that is a crepe or pancake filled with a spiced potato mixture. We got a hot tip that a small Indian eatery called Fresh Paradise serves great masala dosa and had to taste it for ourselves. We were told that the dosas are very large, big enough for two people to share.
Arriving at Fresh Paradise we were almost fooled by the closed sign in the window but realized that the small eatery was actually open and the sign telling customers that the establishment would be closed from 2:30-4:30 pm. So don't be fooled if you see a closed sign in the window and it is 12:00 pm! The restaurant was not at all fancy with minimal decor but the menu had everything from Indian Chinese food to Indian 'street food' including pani puri and bhel puri.

We decided to share the South Indian Mixed Plate for $9.99 and includes your choice of dosa, idli and vada served with sambar and chutney. We chose the mysore dosa that had the addition of spicy chutney inside the crepe along with the spiced potato mixture. Sharing a dosa is a good idea as they are extremely large and more than enough for two hungry people to get full from. The dosa is best if eaten while piping hot, don't worry if you burn your tongue because it is well worth it. Don't be afraid to rip pieces of dosa and potato together and dunk in the sambar followed by chutney or visa versa. This is the proper way to eat and enjoy dosa so don't be afraid to eat without utensils .
The idli, vada, sambar and chutney was a nice little appetizer but we would have like to have a large or additional vada. The mysore dosa was good but not spicy enough for us, however, we love very, very spicy food so it should be perfect for anyone that likes spice but not too much.
Overall this little place was nice with good service and selection of items on the menu. We will be going back next time the craving for dosa hits us.
